<image:caption>I am a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with older adults. I help my clients through depression, anxiety, grief, loss, family tension, hopelessness, and difficulty adjusting to health changes. My theoretical approach is based on person-centered therapy, which maintains that people naturally try to improve their lives, and that my role is to help them work through obstacles. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and I strive to provide empathic, curious, and culturally sensitive treatment. I also make use of evidence-based interventions that focus on symptoms and conditions common in later life. These include trauma, substance abuse, hoarding, insomnia, and ambivalence about changing behavior. Academic Training I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Pacific University in 2019. I completed a geropsychology-focused predoctoral internship with Heritage Clinic, a division of the Center for Aging Resources, in Pasadena, CA. Both my graduate program and one-year internship were accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), which establishes quality standards for training in clinical psychology. Additionally, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from Pacific University and a postdoctoral residency with Senior Connections in Vancouver, WA, which provided considerable experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
